Love Poem Competition
Love is like the cat's burp bubbling up through the atmosphere and popping in outer space like root beer
vs
Love is like all the stars expanding or collapsing at a different rate each corresponding to the sensation of time as we age -- how it goes faster like a car with no brakes or a car pulled by another car neither of which have brakes
vs
Love is like clay golems animated among us -- skulls not squarish, but round and they always wear glasses
vs
Corrosive spit -- that's love -- I hold it in my mouth and pass it to you like eating a peach and leaving myself there in the imprint
vs
Love is like the car on the highway -- this one functioning with brakes -- going along and the tires start to sigh and hum, a thrum, that becomes a companion more comfortable -- I shout out your name -- than most people I've met
vs
A ballad of love about smog swelling up the mouth of the bay -- one lover inhales the breath like hair in his eyes -- get a load of that air coming off her neck
vs
Children whose kisses are so clean and sweet like cold water -- everyone knows this -- that's why the children always win.
