I. Waves
A. I can no longer tell
1. what are pewter earrings dropped frozen from her ear or
2. a clear puddle on the sidewalk from the icicles
B. I can no longer tell
1. what is red hair waving down her back or
2. a clay mud puddle in the drive
C. I can no longer tell
1. what is black sewing thread dripping from her mouth or
2. a rain puddle in the night
D. I can no longer tell
1. what is candy apple red slipping from her wrist or
2. brown puddle stains in her sheets
a. layers and layers like layers of sleep
II. Concluding
A. I can no longer tell
1. what is water
2. or what is wine
3. or whose blood it was
B. though I heard for sure
1. it was hers and mine
2. is still in me.
